If they land in DCF care, they are often removed from their home with only the clothes on their backs because something has happened that brought trauma, confusion, and chaos into their families. Emergency Aid and Transition Necessities 

Many of the 10,000 children who enter DCF Foster Care each year are forced to leave their home with little to no possessions. In this traumatic time, many children must leave their homes with necessary everyday items like winter coats, pajamas, underwear, shoes or their favorite comforting stuffed animal. Your support will help children in these difficult circumstances feel more comfortable and cared for as they adjust to their new environment.
